The science behind it

Why your child's pillow is squeezing their airway every night.

It's not their adenoids. It's not allergies. It's a pillow built for adults, pushing their chin toward their chest and narrowing their airway.

Why a regular pillow is wrong for a child

Why a regular pillow is wrong for a child

  • Bends a child's neck too far
  • Leaves the neck unsupported all night
  • Squeezes the airway
  • Lets the chin drop and the mouth fall open, which leads to snoring
  • Works against healthy jaw and face development
  1. 1

    The adult-pillow problem

A regular pillow is too high for a small head. It pushes the head forward and the chin down toward the chest. The soft tissue in the throat is squeezed, and breathing through the nose gets hard.

  2. 2

The tongue drops, and stays down

With the airway squeezed, the tongue falls to the floor of the mouth instead of resting on the palate. Night after night, this is linked to a narrower jaw and crowded teeth.

  3. 3

    The Lillmoln solution

Raised edges and a soft hollow in the centre hold the head and neck in a neutral line, at the height that fits their age: 1–3, 3–8 or 8–16. Lips together, jaw relaxed, tongue up on the palate: the position for nose breathing.

  4. 4

A difference from the first nights

Quieter breathing, less snoring and a child who wakes up rested. Every child is different, which is why you get 30 nights to try it at home.

How the 3 zones support your child

The 3-zone open-airway design

How the 3 zones support your child
  1. 1

Zone 1 · Head cradled level

Keeps the airway open so breathing stays easy.

  2. 2

Zone 2 · Neck fully supported

Stops the head from tipping, so the jaw stays closed.

  3. 3

Zone 3 · Head held centred

The raised edges keep the head in place all night, so the alignment lasts.

The pillow that keeps their mouth closed while they sleep

Lillmoln is shaped to a child's proportions, not shrunk down from an adult pillow.

Each size has its own edge height, matched to a child's neck at that age, so the head stays neutral instead of folding the chin to the chest. The airway stays open. The mouth stays closed. They breathe through the nose, the way a growing body is meant to at night.

No tape on their face. Nothing to pull off and cry about. Just the right position, quietly, every night, while they sleep and you don't have to think about it.

The problem was never your child, or how hard you tried. Their pillow was simply made for an adult.

Choose their size

A child isn't a small adult.

Adult pillows are often too high for a small neck. That's why we made Lillmoln: a child-sized pillow in three heights, one for each age, from 1 to 16.

And because bedtime should feel safe, it has a soft, breathable knit and printed covers they pick themselves.

In parents' own words

★★★★★

”The whole family sleeps again”

He woke up four or five times a night, restless and a little out of breath. Mouth breathing was the common thread once I started reading. Three weeks on this pillow and he sleeps straight through. I didn't realise how much his bad sleep weighed on the whole family until it stopped.

”Hope for the first time in a long time”

★★★★★

”Our home back”

Snoring that woke her big brother in the next room. That was the last straw. Two weeks on this pillow and both kids sleep. It really feels like we got our home back.

Grace O.
★★★★★

”Total silence”

A five-year-old's snoring shouldn't sound like that. My husband recorded it once. Two weeks on this pillow and last week's recording picks up almost nothing. Total silence. On Saturday she woke up and said she felt good, out of nowhere. The first time I'd heard her say that.

Beth H.
★★★★★

”A quiet house”

I used to stand in my son's doorway at night, watching him snore and breathe through his mouth, feeling helpless. The paediatrician told me to wait and see. I waited six months before I decided to stop waiting. This pillow changed the whole feel of our evenings. Quiet house, rested child.

Donna W.
★★★★★

”Done”

Four-year-old's snoring: sorted. Done. Easy.

Amy S.
★★★★★

”I hear her breathe through her nose”

I kept going back in at night because her open-mouth sleep worried me. She looked so tired even after ten hours of sleep. Two months on this pillow and I finally stop at her door and hear her breathing calmly through her nose.

Carla M.
★★★★★

”Silence in two weeks”

The snoring came through a closed door and a white noise machine. My husband and I were both losing sleep. I bought this. Silence in two weeks. Now the first thing my child says in the morning is no longer about being tired.

Susan L.
★★★★★

”A bit of control back”

I watched my son sleep for a long time before ordering this. Mouth wide open, chest heaving, dark circles every morning. Getting this pillow felt like taking back a bit of control. I can't explain the relief when his mouth started staying closed.

Brianna J.
★★★★★

”I wish I could give it to my parents”

I was a mouth breather as a child and spent three years in braces as a teen. When I saw my toddler sleeping with her mouth open, my stomach dropped. I ordered this pillow the same day. Six weeks on, she sleeps quietly and wakes up truly rested.

Christine B.
★★★★★

”He jumps out of bed”

The snoring stopped. I honestly didn't think a pillow could do that. The noise that woke us through the wall is gone. It took about two weeks, and now I look forward to mornings because he bounces out of bed, happy.

Thomas G.
★★★★★

”He smiles when he wakes up”

He actually smiles when he wakes up now. Mornings used to be hard and he was always tired. The pillow is comfy enough that he stays on it all night. The little guy approves.

Katie P.
★★★★★

”We bought a second one”

My grandson stays with us three nights a week and his snoring kept me awake. My daughter got him this pillow and now he sleeps like an angel at our place too. We bought a second one so he has the same setup in both homes.

Theresa M.
★★★★★

”Listening to the silence”

My four-year-old sounded like a freight train every night. I stopped waiting and bought the pillow. The first week was an adjustment. The second week, I stood in the hallway outside his room listening to the silence and felt overwhelmed with relief.

Heather N.
★★★★★

”Not my daughter”

I grew up as a mouth breather, had braces for four years and still needed jaw surgery in my twenties. Watching my daughter sleep with her mouth open was like reliving my childhood. No way. Within three weeks on this pillow she was sleeping with her mouth closed.

Maya T.
★★★★★

”A quiet house at night”

My son snored so loudly I could hear him through his bedroom door. Two weeks on this pillow and I finally have a quiet house at night. He wakes up and actually wants to get out of bed. I'd forgotten that was possible.

Rachel T.
★★★★★

”I cried when I saw her”

Our paediatrician kept brushing me off: just a phase. I could see my daughter's face changing in photos from six months earlier. I found this pillow late one night and ordered it the same night. Three weeks later she sleeps with her mouth closed. I cried when I walked in and saw her.

Melissa K.
★★★★★

”Nine nights”

Snoring gone in nine nights. I'm still in shock.

Priya S.
★★★★★

”All I hoped for”

A really comfortable, well-made pillow. My son sleeps happier, and that's all I was hoping for.

Hannah W.
★★★★★

”Nap time is easy now”

My daughter is the lightest sleeper in the world and nap time was a daily battle. Since we switched to this pillow, she settles on her own and stays asleep. So glad we tried it.

How can a pillow actually change how my child breathes?

It comes down to head position. Most kids sleep on a pillow built for an adult. It's too tall for a small head, so it tips the chin toward the chest and narrows the airway. To get enough air, your child opens their mouth and breathes through it all night.

Lillmoln has an edge height sized to a child's neck at each age, so it holds the head neutral and keeps the airway open. That keeps the mouth closed and encourages nose breathing. And during the years the face is still forming, how a child breathes at night is closely linked to how the jaw and palate develop.

Isn't mouth breathing, or crooked teeth, just genetics?

Genetics set the starting point, but they aren't the whole story. Breathing and sleep posture are habits, and habits influence how a child develops while they're still growing. A child who breathes through an open mouth every night for years puts very different pressure on the jaw and palate than one who breathes through the nose with the mouth closed. It isn't genetics or habit. It's both, and the habit is the part you can do something about.

My child snores loudly or seems to gasp at night. Should I see a doctor first?

Yes, please do. Loud, chronic snoring, gasping or any pauses in breathing should be checked by a doctor or an ENT to rule out sleep apnea or enlarged tonsils and adenoids. Those are medical issues, and this pillow is not a substitute for medical care.

What Lillmoln does is support a healthier sleep position and nose breathing for the everyday mouth breathing and restless sleep so many children have. Think of it as a simple first step, not a replacement for a professional when something more serious is going on.

Will my child actually keep their head on it?

For almost every child, yes. There's nothing to fight here. No tape, no straps, no exercises. It's a comfortable pillow they sleep on, shaped to guide them into the right position on its own. Most kids get used to it within the first few nights without even noticing.

Which size should I choose, and what if my child is between sizes?

Go by age: 1–3 years (edges 2–4 cm), 3–8 years (4–6 cm) or 8–16 years (6–9 cm). In a Duo or Family pack, you choose a size for each pillow.

Between sizes? Size up. The age bands meet at 3 and at 8, so if your child sits right on the line, take the larger one. The same goes if your child is bigger than most children their age. There is room to grow into the larger one, and a size they have already outgrown stops doing its job.

Is it safe for my child?

Yes. It's made for children, with a soft, breathable knitted cover, and the cover comes off for the washing machine. The smallest size is for ages 1 to 3. As with any pillow, it isn't recommended for babies under 12 months.

Shipping and delivery

Shipping is free across the United States, and you get a tracking number as soon as your order ships.

What makes it worth more than a regular pillow?

Because it isn't a regular pillow. A standard pillow is built for an adult and works against a child's airway. Lillmoln is shaped for a child's neck and airway during the years when their face is still developing, and that's a job an ordinary pillow simply can't do. When you weigh 599 kr now against what it can cost to deal with these things later, the value looks very different.

How soon will we see results, and how does the trial work?

Many parents notice quieter nights within the first week or two, though every child is different. That's why you get 30 nights to try it at home. If your child's sleep hasn't improved in that time, send it back and get your money back. Zero risk.
